A creamy, protein-packed overnight oats recipe that tastes like a Reese’s cup in a bowl. Perfect for busy mornings, this no-cook breakfast takes just 5 minutes of prep and keeps kids full until lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (100g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (dairy, almond, oat, or soy)
  • 1/4 cup (60g) creamy peanut butter (natural, no added sugar)
  • 1 scoop (about 30g) chocolate or vanilla protein powder
  • 1–2 tablespoons (15-30ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a jar or airtight container, combine rolled oats, protein powder, chia seeds (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir to break up any clumps of protein powder.
  2. Add milk, peanut butter, and honey or maple syrup. Let sit for a minute without stirring.
  3. Stir vigorously for about 30 seconds until peanut butter is fully incorporated and protein powder is dissolved. The mixture should look smooth and slightly thick. If too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons more milk.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or peanut butter flavor as desired.
  5. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. In the morning, stir well. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Serve cold or microwave for 30-60 seconds for warm oats.
  7. Top with sliced bananas, extra peanut butter, chocolate chips, or fresh berries. Let kids customize their own bowls.

Notes

For best results, use room-temperature milk and peanut butter for easier mixing. If protein powder is very sweet, start with 1 teaspoon of honey and adjust to taste. Oats taste even better on day 2 or 3 as flavors meld. Store in refrigerator for up to 5 days. Do not freeze.
