This candy apple Halloween cocktail is a quick and easy party drink that tastes exactly like a carnival treat. With a caramel rim, tart apple cider, and sweet grenadine, it’s a crowd-pleasing cocktail that comes together in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz vodka (recommend Tito’s or any unflavored vodka)
  • 3 oz apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
  • 1 oz grenadine (Rose’s or homemade)
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • Caramel sauce for rimming the glass
  • Red sanding sugar or crushed red candy for rim (optional)
  • Ice cubes (large, clear preferred)
  • Apple slice and cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep your glass rim: Pour about 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce into a small saucer. In a second saucer, pour about 3 tablespoons of red sanding sugar. Dip the rim of a rocks glass into the caramel, then dip into the red sugar. Set aside.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about three-quarters full).
  3. Add 2 oz vodka to the shaker.
  4. Pour in 3 oz apple cider.
  5. Add 1 oz grenadine and 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice.
  6. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  7. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
  8. Garnish with a thin apple slice and a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t skip the lemon juice—it balances the sweetness. Chill glasses beforehand for a better caramel rim. Make the caramel rim right before serving. For a crowd, multiply ingredients and mix in a pitcher without ice; refrigerate until serving. Use large ice cubes to prevent dilution.
