A quick and creamy smoothie bowl made with frozen banana, peanut butter, and protein powder, topped with your favorite toppings for a cozy, satisfying breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large frozen banana (peeled and sliced before freezing)
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder (about 30 grams)
  • ¼ cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, or coconut milk)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • For the toppings: sliced banana, granola, drizzle of peanut butter, dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs, shredded coconut, hemp seeds or sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Prep your banana: Peel a ripe banana, slice it into coins, and freeze them in a single layer on a plate or in a freezer bag.
  2. Add ingredients to blender: Start with the frozen banana slices, then add peanut butter, protein powder, milk, chia seeds (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Layer liquid ingredients on top of frozen ones.
  3. Blend until smooth: Start on low speed, then gradually increase to high. Blend for 30-45 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. The mixture should be thick and creamy like soft-serve ice cream. If too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time; if too thin, add more frozen banana slices or a handful of ice.
  4. Check the consistency: The perfect smoothie bowl should be thick enough to hold its shape when scooped. It shouldn’t be runny or watery.
  5. Transfer to a bowl: Use a spatula to scrape the smoothie mixture into a serving bowl. Spread it evenly with the back of a spoon.
  6. Add your toppings: Arrange sliced banana, granola, a drizzle of peanut butter, chocolate chips, and any other toppings you love.
  7. Serve immediately: Enjoy right away while still thick and cold.

Notes

Use a ripe banana (spotty brown) for best sweetness and creaminess. Start with less milk and add more as needed to avoid a thin consistency. Prep toppings in advance for a faster morning routine. This smoothie bowl does not store well; enjoy immediately.
