A quick and easy spiced eggnog latte that combines rich coffee with creamy eggnog and warm spices, perfect for holiday gatherings or a cozy moment at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) strong brewed coffee or 2 shots of espresso
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) high-quality eggnog
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk (or oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch of ground allspice (optional)
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Extra ground nutmeg or cinnamon for garnish
  • Cinnamon stick for stirring

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup of strong coffee or pull 2 shots of espresso.
  2. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine eggnog, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk gently until hot but not boiling (about 2 minutes).
  4. Sprinkle in about half of the spice blend and whisk to combine. Taste and adjust as needed.
  5. Froth the milk mixture using a frother or whisk vigorously for about 30 seconds until frothy and doubled in volume.
  6. Pour the brewed coffee into a large mug. Slowly pour the frothy eggnog mixture over the back of a spoon to create layers.
  7. Top with whipped cream, sprinkle remaining spice blend on top, and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not boil the eggnog mixture to prevent curdling. For a dairy-free version, use oat milk and dairy-free eggnog. For an adult version, add 1-2 ounces of dark rum, bourbon, or brandy after heating. Leftover eggnog mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
