A quick and easy iced espresso drink with brown sugar syrup and oatmilk, shaken to create a frothy, creamy texture perfect for summer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots (about 2 oz / 60 ml) freshly brewed espresso (medium roast preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar syrup (made by dissolving equal parts brown sugar and hot water)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) oatmilk (barista-style recommended)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes
  • Optional: pinch of ground cinnamon or 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Brew two fresh espresso shots (about 2 oz / 60 ml) and let cool slightly.
  2. Prepare brown sugar syrup by dissolving equal parts brown sugar and hot water if not already made.
  3. Pour the warm espresso and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker or jar.
  4. Add about 1 cup (240 ml) of ice cubes to the shaker.
  5. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the mixture is cold and frothy.
  6. Strain or pour the shaken espresso and syrup over fresh ice in a tall glass.
  7. Slowly pour 1/2 cup (120 ml) of oatmilk over the top to create creamy layers.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or add a splash of vanilla extract.
  9. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy.

Notes

Use fresh espresso shots for best flavor and froth. Warm syrup dissolves better than cold. Shake vigorously to create silky foam. Use barista-style oatmilk for creamier texture. Adjust syrup amount to taste to avoid over-sweetening. Large clear ice cubes melt slower and keep drink from diluting.
