A quick and easy recipe to make light, airy, and creamy pumpkin cold foam that perfectly complements homemade pumpkin spice lattes, bringing cozy autumn vibes to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) maple syrup (or honey/agave)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1.25 ml) ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon (0.6 ml) ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon (0.6 ml) ground ginger (optional)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Chill your mixing bowl or frothing pitcher in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
  2. Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of heavy cream into the chilled bowl, then add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of pumpkin puree and stir gently.
  3. Mix in 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon (1.25 ml) ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon (0.6 ml) ground nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon (0.6 ml) ground ginger if using, and a pinch of salt. Whisk gently to combine.
  4. Froth the mixture using a milk frother for 1 to 2 minutes until thick and forming soft peaks. If using a manual frother or shaking in a jar, shake vigorously for 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Check the consistency; if too thin, continue frothing in short bursts but avoid overdoing it to prevent turning into butter.
  6. Serve immediately by spooning the pumpkin cold foam over freshly brewed iced or hot espresso or coffee. Optionally, sprinkle with extra cinnamon or nutmeg.

Notes

Keep all ingredients and equipment cold for best foam texture. Avoid over-frothing to prevent turning cream into butter. Use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. For dairy-free, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut cream and adjust sweetness accordingly. Foam is best served fresh and lasts up to 24 hours refrigerated with gentle re-frothing before use.
