This recipe delivers perfectly crispy chicken thighs with a sticky honey sriracha glaze, balancing sweet and spicy flavors. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 1.5 pounds or 700 g)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds and sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, sriracha, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and oil. Taste and adjust for heat or sweetness (about 3 minutes).
  3. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and toss until well coated. Marinate for at least 10 minutes, up to 2 hours in the fridge.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place chicken thighs skin-side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip and cook for another 8-10 minutes until skin is golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Brush the thighs with any remaining sauce and return to the air fryer for an additional 2 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Pat chicken dry to ensure crispy skin. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to prevent steaming. Apply honey-sriracha glaze near the end to avoid burning. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked to 165°F (74°C). For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos.
