A quick and fuss-free recipe featuring bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs glazed with a sticky honey garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup (85g) honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)

Instructions

  1. Pat 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup honey, 1/4 cup soy sauce, and 4 minced garlic cloves. Set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken thighs skin-side down. Cook without moving for about 6-7 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy. Flip and cook the other side for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Pour the honey garlic mixture over the chicken. Reduce heat to medium-low. Spoon the sauce over the thighs constantly as it bubbles and thickens for about 5-7 minutes until glossy and sticky.
  5. Continue cooking until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). If the sauce reduces too fast, add a splash of water or lower the heat.
  6. Transfer chicken to a serving plate, spoon extra sauce on top, and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Dry chicken skin thoroughly for crispiness. Use medium-high heat to brown chicken and medium-low heat when cooking sauce to prevent burning. Optionally finish under broiler for 1-2 minutes for extra crispy skin. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos. Boneless thighs cook faster; watch closely to avoid drying out.
