Easy Gooey Campfire S’mores Nachos Recipe Kids Love to Make

easy gooey campfire s’mores nachos - featured image

A quick and kid-friendly recipe that recreates the nostalgic s’mores flavor without a campfire, using simple ingredients baked in the oven for a gooey, melty treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Graham crackers, broken into bite-sized pieces (about 2-inch chunks)
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups (50-75g) mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, caramel sauce, fresh fruit slices (strawberries, bananas)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Break graham crackers into bite-size pieces and spread evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet to form the base layer.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan until fully liquid. Optionally toss the cracker pieces in the melted butter for extra richness and crispiness.
  4. Sprinkle a generous layer of chocolate chips evenly over the graham crackers.
  5. Add mini marshmallows on top.
  6. Bake in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes, watching closely until marshmallows puff up and turn light golden.
  7. Remove from oven carefully and let cool for a minute or two to help the chocolate set slightly without losing softness.
  8. Optionally add toppings like chopped nuts, caramel drizzle, or fresh fruit slices.
  9. Serve warm with small plates and forks or fingers.

Notes

Watch the marshmallows closely while baking to prevent burning. For a crispier base, toast cracker pieces alone for 3 minutes before adding chocolate and marshmallows. You can add a dash of cinnamon to melted butter for extra flavor. Use mini marshmallows for even melting. Leftovers can be stored at room temperature for up to 24 hours or refrigerated and gently reheated.
