Buttery, cheesy ham and Swiss croissant sliders with a honey mustard poppy seed sauce, perfect for lunchboxes or a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 large croissants
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli ham (Black Forest or honey ham)
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Slice croissants in half horizontally using a serrated knife. Place bottom halves in the prepared dish, cut-side up.
  3. Divide ham evenly among the 8 bottom croissant halves, folding slices to fit.
  4. Place one slice of Swiss cheese on top of each ham pile.
  5. Place top halves of croissants over the cheese, cut-side down.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  7. Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the croissants.
  8. Sprinkle poppy seeds evenly over the tops.
  9. Cover dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes, until tops are golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  11. Let sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Let ham and cheese come to room temperature before assembling for even baking. Don’t overbake—cheese should be gooey, not rubbery. Sliders can be assembled up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated; add butter sauce and poppy seeds just before baking. For lunchboxes, cool completely before packing to avoid sogginess.
