These quick and easy sliders combine leftover turkey, tangy cranberry sauce, and melty provolone on sweet Hawaiian rolls, baked with a buttery garlic topping. Perfect for busy weeknights, bake sales, or using up holiday leftovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (1 package)
  • 2 cups cooked turkey, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • Extra cranberry sauce for dipping (optional)
  • Fresh arugula or spinach for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Position rack in the middle.
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  3. Slice the rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected as a single slab. Place bottom half in the prepared dish, cut side up.
  4. Spread cranberry sauce evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  5. Distribute the turkey evenly over the cranberry sauce.
  6. Lay provolone slices over the turkey, tearing to fit if needed.
  7. Place the top half of the rolls over the filling, cut side down. Press down gently.
  8. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder, and dried minced onion (if using). Stir until well mixed.
  9. Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle with poppy seeds if desired.
  10. Cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes, until tops are golden brown and cheese is bubbly. For extra-crispy tops, broil for 1-2 minutes, watching closely.
  12. Let sliders rest in the pan for 3-5 minutes before cutting between the rolls. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter for the topping to create a paste that sticks better. Let sliders rest before cutting to prevent cheese from running. To prevent sogginess, toast the bottom half of the rolls for 3-4 minutes before adding fillings. These sliders taste even better the next day as flavors meld.
