Quick and easy fresh cream cheese pinwheel wraps with turkey and avocado, perfect for last-minute snacks, potlucks, or light lunches. These wraps combine creamy, savory flavors with a fresh, satisfying texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Large flour tortillas (soft but sturdy, can substitute whole wheat or gluten-free)
  • 8 ounces fresh cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces deli turkey slices, thinly sliced (low-sodium or nitrate-free preferred)
  • 1 medium ripe avocado, peeled and sliced or mashed
  • A handful fresh spinach leaves (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional extras: thinly sliced red onion or a sprinkle of smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the avocado: In a small bowl, mash or slice the ripe avocado. Add 1 teaspoon lemon juice and season with salt and pepper. Toss gently to coat and set aside.
  2. Soften the cream cheese: Ensure cream cheese is softened at room temperature. Spread evenly over each tortilla using a spreading knife or offset spatula, leaving about ½ inch border around edges.
  3. Add the turkey: Layer deli turkey slices evenly on top of the cream cheese, overlapping slightly.
  4. Place the spinach and avocado: Scatter fresh spinach leaves over the turkey, then add avocado slices or spread mashed avocado evenly. Optionally, sprinkle thin red onion slices or smoked paprika.
  5. Roll tightly: Starting from one edge, roll the tortilla firmly but gently to avoid squeezing out filling. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap or parchment paper.
  6. Chill before slicing: Refrigerate the wrapped roll for at least 20 minutes to help it set and make slicing easier.
  7. Slice into pinwheels: Remove from fridge and unwrap. Using a sharp knife, slice into 1-inch thick pinwheels. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to eat.

Notes

Let cream cheese soften at room temperature for easier spreading. Use ripe avocado and toss with lemon juice to prevent browning. Chill wrapped rolls before slicing for cleaner pinwheels. Slice just before serving to avoid avocado discoloration. Can prepare rolls ahead and slice later. Use sharp knife to avoid squashing wraps.
