A vibrant and festive charcuterie board featuring fresh berries, cheeses, and cured meats arranged to resemble the American flag. Perfect for Fourth of July, Memorial Day, or any celebratory gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (for the star section)
  • 1 ½ cups sliced strawberries (for the red stripes)
  • 1 cup white grapes or mini mozzarella balls (for the white stripes)
  • 8 oz block of sharp white cheddar, sliced
  • 8 oz creamy goat cheese log, sliced or crumbled
  • Optional: slices of provolone or mozzarella for milder flavor
  • 6 oz thinly sliced salami or pepperoni, folded
  • 6 oz prosciutto or smoked ham slices
  • Handful of fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Mixed nuts like almonds or pecans (optional, for crunch)
  • Honey or balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the blueberries, strawberries, and grapes thoroughly. Slice the strawberries lengthwise into thin strips. Slice the cheddar and goat cheese into even, manageable pieces about ¼-inch thick. Set aside.
  2. In the upper left corner of your board, arrange the fresh blueberries tightly to resemble the blue star field of the American flag, covering roughly one-quarter of the board’s width and height.
  3. Next to the blueberry section, lay out the sliced strawberries in neat rows with slices overlapping slightly for fullness, aiming for 3-4 rows depending on board size.
  4. Between the strawberry rows, place the white grapes or mini mozzarella balls in parallel lines to create the white stripes.
  5. Arrange the cheddar slices in neat stacks or fan shapes in the remaining space and edges. Fold the salami and prosciutto slices and tuck them between cheeses and fruit edges for color and texture balance.
  6. Sprinkle fresh mint leaves across the board for garnish. Scatter nuts thoughtfully in empty spots for crunch if using. Optionally drizzle honey or balsamic glaze sparingly over cheese for sweetness.
  7. Check the overall shape and color balance, tweaking any sparse or uneven rows. A little rustic charm adds character.

Notes

Keep fruits dry to avoid sogginess. Slice cheeses evenly with a sharp knife. Fold meats for volume and texture. Avoid overcrowding the board to maintain clear flag design. Prepare ingredients just before assembly or refrigerate covered if prepping early. Bring to room temperature before serving.
