A quick and easy baked chicken breast recipe featuring a luscious honey garlic butter glaze that keeps the chicken juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (68 ounces each)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, honey, and minced garlic. Whisk until smooth and glossy.
  3. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika if using.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. (Skip this step if using a baking dish.)
  5. Pour the honey garlic butter sauce evenly over the chicken breasts, basting with a spoon to coat well.
  6. Transfer the skillet or baking dish to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. About halfway through baking (around 12 minutes), baste the chicken again with the sauce to keep it moist.
  8. Remove from oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes to redistribute juices.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Pat chicken dry before seasoning to help sauce stick better. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F for safe and juicy results. Searing the chicken before baking adds color and locks in juices but can be skipped if using a baking dish. Rest chicken after baking to keep it tender. For dairy-free, substitute butter with coconut oil and honey with maple syrup.
