A quick and easy charcuterie board for two that comes together in 15 minutes using simple ingredients. Perfect for date nights, unexpected guests, or when you want a special meal without the stress.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4–6 ounces cheese (e.g., brie, goat cheese, aged cheddar, or gouda)
  • 4–6 ounces cured meat (e.g., salami, prosciutto, or soppressata)
  • 8–10 crackers or bread slices (e.g., water crackers, baguette slices, or pita chips)
  • 1/2 cup fresh fruit (e.g., grapes, apple slices, or pear slices)
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit (e.g., dried apricots, figs, or cranberries)
  • 1/4 cup nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1/4 cup olives or pickles (e.g., cornichons, kalamata olives, or pickled onions)
  • 2 tablespoons spread or dip (e.g., honey, fig jam, or whole-grain mustard)

Instructions

  1. Prep the cheese (2 minutes): Take the cheese out of the fridge about 10 minutes before you start if you can—room temperature cheese has more flavor. Slice the hard cheese (like cheddar) into thin triangles or cubes. Leave soft cheese (like brie) whole or cut it into wedges. Place them on opposite ends of the board so they’re easy to reach.
  2. Arrange the meat (2 minutes): Fold or roll the slices of salami or prosciutto. I like to fan them out in a row or pile them in a small stack. Place them near the cheese. If you’re using prosciutto, separate the slices so they don’t stick together.
  3. Add the fruit (3 minutes): Wash and dry the grapes, or slice the apple or pear. If you’re using apples, toss them in a little lemon juice to prevent browning. Place the fruit in small clusters around the board. I usually put grapes in one corner and apple slices near the cheese.
  4. Fill in with crackers and nuts (2 minutes): Arrange the crackers in a neat row or fan shape. Sprinkle the nuts in the gaps. This fills the board and makes it look full and inviting.
  5. Add the pickles and spreads (3 minutes): Spoon the olives or cornichons into small bowls. Place them on the board. Add a small bowl of honey or fig jam. Drizzle a little honey directly over the brie for a sweet-savory touch.
  6. Final touches (3 minutes): Take a step back and look at the board. Fill any empty spaces with extra crackers, nuts, or dried fruit. The goal is to make it look abundant, not crowded. Add a few fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for color if you have them.

Notes

Room temperature cheese has more flavor, so let it sit out for 10-15 minutes before serving. Balance flavors with salty (meat), creamy (cheese), sweet (fruit/honey), and tangy (pickles). Don’t overcrowd the board; leave space for easy grabbing. Prep ahead by slicing cheese and washing fruit earlier in the day. Use what you have on hand—no special trip to the store needed.
