A fun and spooky Halloween snack board that comes together in under 15 minutes. Perfect for parties, school events, or a quick treat before trick-or-treating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces block cheddar cheese (orange or white)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mozzarella pearls or small fresh mozzarella balls
  • 1 large red bell pepper
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 1 cup black olives, pitted
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup pumpkin seeds, roasted and salted
  • 1 cup Halloween-colored goldfish crackers or cheddar fish
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1 cup candy corn or candy pumpkins
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or cherries (optional)
  • 1 small piece of nori (seaweed) or black construction paper
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese or peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Prep the Cheese (5 minutes): Slice block cheddar into 1/4-inch thick slabs. Use Halloween cookie cutters to press out ghost, bat, or pumpkin shapes. If cheese is too soft, freeze for 5 minutes first. Set shapes aside.
  2. Make the Monster Eyeballs (3 minutes): Slice cucumber into 1/4-inch rounds. Use a small piping tip or straw to press a small circle into the center of each round. Fill indent with a tiny dab of cream cheese. Place a black olive slice on top. Repeat for 8-10 eyeballs.
  3. Create the Creepy-Crawly Spiders (4 minutes): Slice black olives in half lengthwise. Place one olive half cut-side down. Cut pretzel sticks into 1-inch pieces and stick 4 pieces on each side of the olive half for legs. Use cream cheese to attach two small pretzel pieces as eyes. Repeat for 6-8 spiders.
  4. Build the Monster Face (2 minutes): Cut red bell pepper in half and remove seeds. Use one half as the monster body. Cut small triangles from the other half for teeth or horns. Use cream cheese to stick nori or black paper eyes onto the pepper.
  5. Arrange the Board (5 minutes): Place monster face in center. Arrange cheese shapes around it. Group eyeballs and spiders in clusters. Fill gaps with pretzel sticks, pumpkin seeds, goldfish crackers, grapes, and candy corn. Use small bowls for items that might roll.
  6. Add Final Details (1 minute): Drizzle extra cream cheese around the board in spider web patterns using a toothpick. Sprinkle extra pumpkin seeds on cheese shapes.

Notes

Use block cheese for cutting shapes, not pre-shredded. Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier spreading. Don’t overcrowd the board; leave breathing room between items. Keep grapes and cucumber eyeballs in the fridge until serving to prevent sogginess.
