  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, cut in half
  • 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Wooden skewers or toothpicks, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top if using.
  2. Wrap each sausage link tightly with half a slice of bacon, spiraling to cover evenly. Secure with a soaked wooden skewer or toothpick. Repeat for all 12 links.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together bourbon, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, black pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. Place the bacon-wrapped sausage links on the wire rack or foil-lined baking sheet, spaced about an inch apart.
  5. Brush each sausage link generously with the bourbon maple glaze, saving some for basting halfway through cooking.
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes. At the 10-minute mark, baste the sausage links again with the remaining glaze and carefully flip them to promote even browning and crispiness.
  7. For extra crispy bacon, switch the oven to broil for the last 2–3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest on the rack for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use thick-cut bacon for better crispiness. Soak wooden skewers to prevent burning. Brush glaze twice for best flavor and shine. Watch closely during broiling to avoid burning. For grill method, cook over indirect heat for about 15 minutes, turning frequently.
